Hi Johnny,
Wonderful to hear from you. I have a lot of music recorded with the Mørch Jaco bass. I’m attaching a recording and a live video link. The bass has been with me now for 20+ years and we are bonded…It plays what I feel! I also feel like since I grew up in Florida and Jaco was everything to me that somehow, he made sure it found its way to the right owner. I don’t play it at all the gigs but only the good ones…
I’m attaching a picture from Sweetwater Musichall in Mill Valley, California which I play often… the Mørch is always along for the gig! The recording is Sirabhorn from my Dan Stanton “On Bass” solo album. It is a cover from Pat Metheny’s Bright Size Life Album. Jaco sounded so new, fresh and creative on that … I chose the top musicians from the SF Bay Area for the recording including Mike Olmos on trumpet, Christian Tamburr on marimba (a special request of mine for the recording), Kent Bryson on drums and my good friend Dave Bell on Guitar. The live footage is pre-pandemic at a local jazz club that has sadly since closed but it was a great spot and a place for real music. I hope to come for coffee and a visit with my family again soon! Congratulations again on a profound career of the highest level … 50 years of Mørch, how lucky we all are!
Talk soon,
Dan
